Random Quote

It's not a quote from someone eminent or famous though. It's just something someone told me that made me beam for a bit.

"Mencuci tandas itu seperti mencuci hati,"

To be appreciated for something so trivial.

That certainly made my day.

He told me that it was an Indonesian proverb...or something...he's certainly not that kind of person who'd grab something out of a hat and throw it at you...so I took his word for it, though it seemed pretty dubious for a proverb...

erm... interesting. that day one of my seniors here said that too. she said "janganlah kita rasa hina nak cuci tandas sebab mencuci tandas itu membersihkan hati". mencuci tandas hilangkan segala rasa takabur n riak, menimbulkan rasa kerdil especially dgn Pencipta dan bagi manusia yang berfikir, waktu mencuci tandas itu sepatutnya terdetik dlm hati apa mungkin hati kita sejijik ini. and my senior ckp, mencuci tandas itu tanda sayangkan housemates. tanda sayang yang lahir seikhlas hati, semua org tak nampak apa kita buat, even tak appreciate pun, tapi kita tak kisah sbb kita tahu semua org get the benefit. mencuci tandas mencetuskan keikhlasan yg luar biasa:)

I saw a Dutch Proverb on the CityCat once :

When you live next to the graveyard, you can't weep for everyone who dies.

There were some other weird ones too, but I can't remember anymore. You should keep an eye on the TV more often if you like weird proverbs :P

I can tell you where you can find interesting quotes...in UQ's toilets...the men's toilets at least. They're pretty good too.

OMG, I knowwwwww!! Hahahaha!!

I saw this quote once (and was originally about to put that one here, tapi malu sebab it was from a toilet *blush* :P) in Steele's toilet:

Before you criticise someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticise them, you'll be a mile away and have their shoes.

I hope no one heard me burst into laughter that day. Hahaha. :D

Dear sir, it's now 2013 and I'm still holding on to this quote. Thank you for putting this on your blog.
